Our clients ask us these questions, if you have any others contact us and we’ll answer your questions.

What is erosion control?

Over one billion tons of topsoil are lost every year due to soil erosion. Soil erosion has a major impact on the economy, most notably the agricultural sector. Erosion control is the exercise of preventing water or wind erosion on land, construction sites, coastal and agricultural areas.

How do you control erosion control on a slope?

Generally, slopes greater than 1:3 will require additional erosion protection to assist in the prevention of soil loss through erosion. Erosion control blankets, jute netting, Phyto-Vet™ Vetiver grass, erosion control logs or using Profiles’ range of high-efficiency mulches could be used to prevent the loss of topsoil until vegetation has established.

What are 5 ways to prevent erosion?

1. Plant indigenous grass and shrub species to denuded areas
2. Use erosion control products to prevent soil loss
3. Plant wind breaks
4. Terracing or contours
5. Storm water management
