Construction Sandbags
_
Sandbags assist with minimizing or managing surface water runoff erosion on construction sites. They can be packed and installed in areas prone to collapse or for creating bioswales or channels to divert water runoff, thereby limiting devastating environmental damage. The bags, constructed from woven polypropylene, can also be used to reinforce and rebuild dongas or gullies where vegetation can be planted into the bag, offering further resistance to surface water runoff. Vetiver grass and even selected fast-growing tree species have been successfully established in well-placed sandbags. Sandbags are photo-degradable and last between 6 and 12 months, depending on climatic conditions.
