Straw Fibre Erosion Control Logs
_
Our Straw Fibre Erosion Logs are made from agricultural wheat straw enclosed in a Lyocell (cellulose) open-weave knitted tubular netting. Lyocell is a biodegradable and compostable material. The wood wool strands are 2mm x 9mm in width and between 0.5 mm and 4mm thick. The biodegradable erosion log’s purpose is to provide a lightweight, porous, and flexible sediment retention device that can be shaped to the terrain contours, dissipate water flow velocity, and filter sediment from the water flow. Straw fibre erosion control logs typically have a lifespan of 6 months to 2 years, depending on climatic conditions.
